In the past year, in 2022, "Kauno grūdai" accomplished numerous positive initiatives. Among them, the company actively participated in various social initiatives, regularly supported various organizations and their activities, providing financial and food aid. Since the beginning of the war, "Kauno grūdai" has been supporting Ukraine, reaching out to both Ukrainians remaining in the war-torn country and those who found refuge in Lithuania, as well as supporting Ukrainian soldiers on the front line. Notably, the quickly prepared porridges ACTIVUS, referred to as "gold" by Ukrainian soldiers for their convenient preparation and nutritional value, received positive feedback. Throughout the war, nearly 500,000 units of various "Kauno grūdai" products were sent to Ukraine, with 150,000 euros donated to the organization "Blue-yellow."
"Kauno grūdai" became one of the sponsors of the project "Week of Wounded Soldiers 2022," which took place in Birštonas from September 19 to 23. This project was dedicated to injured soldiers from Lithuania and Ukraine, providing them with opportunities to communicate, engage in sports together, and receive individual health procedures.
In the past year, "Kauno grūdai" also provided financial support to the Children's Heart Association (VŠA), a non-profit organization helping children born with congenital heart defects and those awaiting heart surgeries and transplants. The organization supports around 300 children born with heart defects in Lithuania each year. "Kauno grūdai" collaborated extensively with the Lithuanian Food Bank in 2022, contributing food products to support those in need.
Additionally, the company directed support to local communities, including Pėlėdnagiai eldership and the Alytus Social Assistance Center. These initiatives aimed to strengthen community bonds and provide meaningful assistance where needed. The support was well-received, and the recipients expressed gratitude for the company's generosity.
