Official Opening of the Kėdainiai Factory Warehouse

2023-02-23

On February 23rd, a 2700 sq. m. warehouse of AB "Kauno grūdai" was opened in the Kėdainiai district. In January 2022, the company announced plans for the rapid expansion of its ready-to-eat products business and an investment of over 3 million euros in improving logistics infrastructure in the Kėdainiai district.

The investment is earmarked for the construction of warehouse facilities, improvement of working conditions, and enhancement of operational quality. According to Justas Stanys, the business development manager at AB "Kauno grūdai," the company is constantly seeking ways to increase production capacity due to the growing demand for its products.

"The production volumes at the Kėdainiai factory have increased 3-4 times, while the warehouse space remained the same. Therefore, the decision to expand warehouse space was necessary. We are pleased to complete this construction stage, which started about a year ago. The new warehouse allows our factory to increase production capacity. In the next stage, we plan to restructure and renovate production facilities, and these works have already begun. Upon completion, administrative and utility rooms will also be renovated," commented Justas Stanys.

During the event, words of welcome were spoken by Andrius Pranckevičius, the CEO of "Kauno grūdai," business development manager Justas Stanys, and Valentinas Tamulis, the mayor of the Kėdainiai district.

"The construction of this warehouse is a very sensitive issue for me because I had to make the decision to build it or not on my second day of work," shared Andrius Pranckevičius. "Construction took place during a challenging period, and conditions were not easy for everyone. Nevertheless, here we are, we've built it, and we are very pleased."

Later, event participants were given a tour during which Edgaras Molis showcased warehouse spaces and presented innovative construction and operational solutions.
